Founder and Principal
Juena Philpott is the Founder and President of the Stevensville Group, located in Healdsburg, California. Established in 1994 the company is committed to professional excellence by providing high quality, customer-centric Executive Search and Leadership Development services.
Juena has successfully conducted executive search assignments at all levels, including CEO, COO and President-level positions, both domestically and globally. Her clients include publicly traded and family run businesses in the wine, spirits, consumer, financial, technology and services sectors. Working with CEOs of both entrepreneurial/start-up organizations and Fortune 500 companies, Juena has developed a robust leadership assessment and talent pool process and has facilitated strategic planning processes.
Prior to founding the Stevensville Group, Juena held Senior Human Resource positions with Security First Group (financial services), Teleflora (flowers-by-wire) and ComSystems/WorldCom (telecommunications). With over twenty-five years experience as a Senior Human Resources Executive, Juena’s focus was on talent acquisition, assessment and leadership development.
A native of Waseca, Minnesota, Juena is active in volunteer work in the community, thoroughly enjoys cooking and paring fine wines, entertaining and showcasing the families two Golden Retrievers. Juena lives in Sonoma County with her husband Fred.
Fred Philpott joined the Stevensville Group in October 2005 as a principal, focusing his search practices in the wine and spirits, luxury products, and consumer goods markets. Fred’s search work and prior experiences have provided him with expertise across many functional areas of business, including: working with senior level executives on broad-based initiatives such as, key talent acquisitions, human resources and business strategy , people assessment and leadership development.
Prior to joining the Stevensville Group, Fred was Senior Vice President of Human Resources for wine industry leader Jackson Wine Estates (Kendall-Jackson Wine Estates, Artisans and Estates and Jackson Wine Estates International) where he focused on talent acquisition and development, leadership assessment and organizational effectiveness. Previously, Fred held senior level Human Resources positions with Whirlpool Corporation, Harman International (consumer electronics), Packard Bell/NEC, Security First Group (financial services), and International Playtex.
Earlier in his career, Fred was a founder and principal of Philpott and Ryan, a retained executive search firm, where he focused on the leadership needs of financial services, consumer products and technology businesses. He successfully completed senior level assignments across many functional areas including general management, sales, marketing, finance, product development and human resources.
The wine business is the result of a natural progression for Fred, blending his profession with personal passion. A book he was given as a gift in 1987 spurred his early interest in California Wines and served as the catalyst behind his eventual move to Sonoma County and professional commitment to the industry. Fred is an avid wine enthusiast and has successfully completed Level 1 certification of the Master Sommelier program.
